premium olive oil

The renowned Greek virgin olive oil termed, ‘Liquid Gold’ by Homer, has gained the international reputation as being the most flavorful and healthy type of olive oil. Its rich flavor encompasses all of the purity of nature, plus the care and attention of its producer who patiently waits for the olive fruit to mature during the autumn months; providing consumers with the purest variety of extra virgin olive oil.

Our limited production of olive oil is of the highest quality extra virgin monovarietal olive oil obtained directly from olives and solely by mechanical means.

Petrichor: the earthy scent produced when rain falls on dry soil. The word is constructed from Greek, petra, meaning ‘stone’, + ichor, the fluid that flows in the veins of the gods in Greek mythology.

“Petrichor-land” olive oil is produced on the Greek island of Lesvos. The olive trees, aged hundreds years, belong to the Adramytiani variety which is characterised by its light taste and rich aroma.

The biological cultivation of our olive groves, the non-industrialised activity, the rich subsoil and the fine Mediterranean climate transfuse Petrihor-land its fine flavour, exceptional aroma and high nutritional value. The olive tree variety adramytiani is being cultivated in the north eastern Aegean giving our olive oil its distinctive flavour.

Petrichor-land is available in two types of packaging, in a wooden box or in a specially handcrafted olive tree log. Finding a suitable olive tree log can be challenging and in combination with the time consuming craftsmanship this special packaging is available in limited quantities. The weight of the log itself is just over 2kgs.

Lesvos is the third biggest island of Greece. It has been inhabited from the prehistoric age and since the antiquity the olive oil production has been one of the main financial pillars of the island and it continues to be until nowadays. From September 2012 Lesvos Island is part of the Unesco Global Network of National Geoparks.
